My speaker hardly works, Help!

Last night someone thought it would be amusing to crack a raw egg on me and it got into my phone. Since then I can barley hear any sound coming out of the speaker. I've tried the toothbrush method and some other things and nothing has worked, in fact I think it might have made it worse. Is there anything I can do about it or do I have to get it replaced? I don't have any warranty on it

Here is a good option for a new earpiece speaker, this company is in the US in San Francisco and are reputable, https://www.gounlock.com/details.php?ite..., 5.65 for the part and 11.00 for fedex 3 day shipping,,,before you order a new speaker, something you might also try, egg dries like cement, it probably has covered the steel screen over the speaker and little sound is getting through and the toothbrush trick isnt breaking it down, get a straight pin and scrape the screen with it, after lots of scraping clean it with an alcohol soaked toothbrush and hold the phone upside down while you scrub the screen so excess alcohol cant get into the speaker, let it dry for awhile upside down for 15 minutes befor you test to see if its fixed, good luck,

The part is only $3 here. I reccomend buying other parts too becuase it is $25 shipping. Its good for buying lots of parts at once on because this website has cheap high quality parts! You have to make an account to veiw prices though. But you need to buy the speaker and replace it, which is really easy

This is way late but for others using ifixit.com you need to remove the back of your iphone and remove the emi shield covering the speaker and check to make sure there is nothing in that area which is causing your inability to hear callers. If your able and willing you could replace the earpiece speaker without absorbing a huge cost.

Next time stay out of the Barley ( think you meant barely)

All the best
