Full battery but nothing at all on the screen.

Why does my MacBook pro's screen stay black even though the fans run and it has a full battery? Is there a way to find out if it is the screen or what?

Options

Connect to an external monitor, if that is black to you have a bad VGU (VGC) and only a logic board replacement can fix it. If an external monitor works your problem is in the internal display chain it could be the inverter, a cable or the LCD. Follow the tags at the right for more help.
