Can I replace the HDD in my Mid 2009 to a SSD

I'd like to replace the HDD in my mid 2009 MacBook Pro to a SSD. Can this be done?

As long as the drive can be slowed down to Serial ATA (3 Gb/s) you should be fine with any of them. Just ask your seller first.

Yes, its possible, there is one caveat here you need to make sure the SSD can match the systems speed. Your system most likely has either a SATA I (1.5 Gb/s) interface ('08 model) or a SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) interface ('09 Unibody model). You may want to check out which you have here: EveryMac - MacBook's

As an example this SSD: Samsung 750 EVO supports all three SATA speeds.

But before you make this jump make sure your investment works for you. Remember this is an older system which has limitations. Review the EveryMac entry for your system it will offer additional details.
