The home button flex is adhered to the digitiser. Once you lift the LCD from its housing you can disconnect the home button flex as you would the digitiser. It will then peel away from the old digitiser.

The suppliers I use don't offer the Ipad 4 digitizer with the home button pre installed, unlike the previous Ipads that do offer it with or without the home button.

So you're telling me that the home button and the digitizer are different parts??
How does the assembly goes ?
I think what Mitch Rush is referring to is that "The suppliers" I " use don't offer it. It will depend on where you purchase your stuff from, you get it with from here and without from places like this. I do of course not endorse any of the places in particular, this is just to further explain.

I have the same problem with repairing the iPad 4.
The ribbon cable of the home button is broken and with the new digitizer I don't have one with ribbon cable home button.
I'm trying to find this part but still no succes :-(, so that is why I also try to find an answer.
