Reattaching big and small ribbon cables

I am having trouble reattaching the large and small ribbon cables from the trackpad.the problem is that they are not long enough.when I try to align,they don't seem to reach to the connectors.especially the large cable which seems to not have connectors but a " blue line",that is the connector.?

I broke the retaining clip for the large ribbon,however for the small it is still there.how do the two tabs,or tits on the end of the cable align.?

viggojensen, take a look at this guide. Step 6 and 7 show you the cables and the connectors. Both connectors are ZIF connectors. Hope this helps, good luck.
