Ringtone and SMS alert sound problem

I have recently had an issue with my iPhone 3GS, any help would be great. My speakers work fine if I am playing music, speaking on the phone or using apps. However when i get an incoming call, text or email no sound is playing. Also I am not getting any keyboard clicks. I think it might be liquid damage but am not sure because everything else works. Any ideas?
