Spilled water on MacBook Pro, backlight won't work.

I spilled water on my MacBook, and turned it off immediately. When I tried to turn it back on, the screen is black(although the computer itself boots up). Also, the LED flashes three times. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Or if not would it be possible to hook it up to an external monitor, or somehow access the hard drive to recover some files?

Thanks in advanced.

You could definitely try hooking it up to an external monitor to see if the machine is still functioning properly. Also try a PRAM reset to see if that will do anything. It could be a number of things if liquid was spilled into the unit. Check the MLB to see if there is any corrorsion or liquid damage.
