Wifi weak after repair of digitizer and new wifi antenna

I fixed a broken ipad2 to replace the digitizer and put in a new wi if antenna. The new signal is present but even when standing next to the modem I get a weak signal. Should I reopen and put in a new wifi antenna?

I think I would lift the digitizer off and make sure wifi antenna is OK and plugged in correctly, if it looks OK then yes replace it, good luck.
