Spilled red wine onto MacBook Pro 13" unibody, now no display

My MBP 13" 2.53 GHz boots normally, works fine with external monitor but built in screen is dead. Took computer to apple store, they said $1200 for a new logic board.

I took laptop apart (thanks ifixit!) and noticed lots of red wine residue on logic board to motherboard connector. What is the best way to clean logicboard/connector and do I have a chance or could the red wine have actually fried the logic board?

Answer this question I have this problem too

I would use electronic contact cleaner. If you live anywhere near a Radio Shack they should have it. otherwise try an electronics parts store. I would completely clean the whole board especially all connections. If it doesn't work after this you may have damaged the logic board but since it works with an external monitor it could be the LCD or its cables. Try the cleaning first and get back to us with any changes in the way it performs. Ralph
