iPod headphone jack problem headphone wont go all the way in,

My iPod touches audiojack must have somthing in it because when i try to plug my headphone into it,it wont allow it to go all the way at first i though it must be the headset because at first i couldnt hear the music then i tried out a brand new pair and same thing the music would not play i then seen that it's not in all the way i took a Q-tip and and tried to clean it and nothing it didnt work so i tried it another way by cutting all of it off except a little part put on some Windex and still nothing.

If any sugestions plz add respecting all sugestions.

thank you.

Hey i have the same prblm but the only difference is that first i had an headphone jack stuck in it cause it was broken and the n i searched on the net for the ways to take it out nd when it did came out after spending hours trying different techniques.... Then i tried to fit in another headphone and it wont go all the way in so i think dust isnt the problem in my case what should i do now???

The YouTube vid fixed my problem. I suggest a wooden toothpick rather than a metal pin followed up with a puff of compressed air from a Dust-Off type bottle with a thin plastic straw. The compressed air is also good for blowing out the phone's USB connection which can also accumulate pocket (and purse) lint.

Look at the tip of the original headphone jack and see if it's broken off.

I had the same problem and used the tip of a safety pin/needle to dig out all of the dust in the headphone jack. You wouldn't believe how big the dust ball is that comes out. This worked for me, you should try it on the onnector port as well, it's ridiculous.

This worked for me too. Extended out a paper clip to use and got loads of dust out of my iPhone 5s jack. Now headphones click into place like new, thanks so much :)

Hi, I've been having this problem too, just simply un-clogg the jack with a needle/pin. If this doesn't work I'd either take it to a shop or buy a new jack and get if replaced:)

I had this problem too. I was really worried that something was broken. I used an unfolded paperclip to put down the hole and worked out loads of fluff from my jeans. The end of the hole should be white (mine was dark which was all the fluff). Now my headphone jack fits in perfectly again.

I used an exacto knife and the closed pointy tips of small metal Scissors to carefully scrape away the excess plastic on my iphone case/body that impeded my ear buds jack from being able to fit into the phone back.. .. So I had to do surgery on my iphone that cost me $800 US...just to be able to use the ear buds that came with my iphone.

Thank you! It never dawned on me that it was the protective case keeping the jack from going in! I took the case off and it goes in perfectly.
