Make MBP Into Desktop?

I have a MBP (last model before unibody) that has a Logic Board that is failing and a cracked screen casing. I'm thinking about trying to turn it into a desktop in the same way that some people have modded their MacBooks into "mini mac pros." Working with the size of the motherboard, do you guys think this is possible?

Thanks

Edit:

The computer just turns off randomly and needs to have pressure over the disk drive to turn on. There is a short on the logic board. The screen is somewhat messed up already and so I was planning on simply turning it into a full time desktop, and maybe even a HTPC. My plan was to buy a used logic board to try to fix it cheaply. I was hoping to be able to do something like this http://wolphbite.com/blog/?p=62

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I understand what you want to do

but maybe it would be better to sell the mbp and get a mini or something like that.

you would need almost nothing from you mbp and thats the point.

case modding could be fun, like a MacBook toaster, radio or whatever - but when i look at the prices - i would never think about something like that - but thats only my opinion ;-)

Well really there's no point as it's much simpler to just set up a workstation like many people do with an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard, with the actual unit stashed away somewhere. Then you get the added bonus of being able to use it as both a desktop AND a laptop.

whats the problem with the board ?

making a desktop aout of a mbp would normally not be the problem (not easy - but not too hard) - BUT -

you wrote that your logic board is failing - well - what would you make your desktop of ?

the logic board is the computer - sorry to say it that hard - but without the logic board - you will only have a casing, some cables, connectors and cracked parts left.
