Number on Logic Board

On the iPhone 4S (UK GSM), there is a number and barcode printed (see pic) just above the digitizer and LCD sockets. Is there any way for normal tech (i.e. not employed by Apple, e.g. me) to utilize this number? I'd like to be able to use it to verify a boards authenticity, for a phone that is out of warranty for example, but not sure if it's possible.

Update: I found that this number is the 'MLBSerialNumber' (manufacturer logic board???) and TinyUmbrella saves it in a file created for an iphone in the .known_devices directory (of TU's specified root for saving SHSH blobs).

That doesn't help but what may help you is if the following you can track and trace:

Apple A5 Dual-core Processor

Qualcomm RTR8605 Multi-band/mode RF Transceiver.

Skyworks 77464-20 Load-Insensitive Power Amplifier (LIPA®) module developed for WCDMA applications

Avago ACPM-7181 Power Amplifier

TriQuint TQM9M9030 surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter

TriQuint TQM666052 PA-Duplexer Module

One of these, if is present, your purpose if fulfilled. You may get more ideas from here.

Cheers Puru, your answer is very useful to my question and beyond. It's always comforting to have chip ID's of devices.

I kind of answered my own question too as I found this number listed as 'MLBSerialNumber' the info file that TinyUmbrella saves in the .known_devices directory for my phone.
