tried to load snow leopard and now MacBook won't boot

I put in the Snow Leopard disk and it looked like it was installing and then it quit. After that, it will no longer boot - I tried restarting holding down the "c" key and it still would not boot using the original HD. I tried using the Disk Repair and it came up not able to repair or verify.

It seems like the computer is confused - half of the SL was installed and so it's not recognizing what to do - the apple logo is on and the thing keeps spinning.

any ideas as to what to do???
