iPod won't start-got wet

Washed iPod, took apart, dried, installed new battery. Connected to computer; screen still blank.Let charge; Press center button and menu buttons, makes clicking noise then white screen appears with apple support website url then goes dark again. Is it done for?

Looks like you've got a bad logic board then, it's destroyed. Unfortunately they are neither practical nor cost-effective enough to change, so you'd be best off buying a new iPod.

Well you can still sell it, that's a good option, you can fetch a decent price on ebay for the dead unit. A lot of people buy iPods with bad logic boards for the other parts.

try the rice method let it sit in rice for 2 day then it should work the next problem is ur click wheel

I got this on my 5th gen 30GB when I was checking a bad 80GB hard drive.

When I put the good 30 GB back in it gave me the support.apple/support message so I unhooked the battery and hard drive for 5 min. re assembled it and it started working.

Make sure you have a well charged battery ! at least 35%
