Noise cancelling microphone not working!

There was a problem with my power button, I fixed it by opening my phone, changing the ribbon cable where the power push button resides. However, I think the noise cancelling mic is screwed up somehow during the process unfortunately. When I record a video, there is no sound recorded at all. While I was fixing the phone I lost one of the screws on the cover plate. The screw at the second leftmost bottom one on the cover plate. Would that be the problem, as some screws are making ground connections?

The answer is no, the screw's would not be your problem, you may have damaged the mic or ribbon cable during installation, its in a cramped spot and easy enough to do,If this answer was helpful please remember to mark it accepted.'

Hey thanks for the answer but I ordered a new ribbon cable and installed it and no luck. Still the top noise cancelling mic doesn't work :( What would be the problem? I hope it is not the audio integrated chip on the motherboard.

Actually yes you are right!!! When I put back my first original ribbon cable, which I plan to replace, the video recording works and there is sound!!! I bought the flex cable from internet. I told them it is defective, because the mic does not work. They sent me another one, it also didn't work. I complained to them again, they sent me another one. Guess what, it doesn't work either! Where can I buy a working sensor flex cable???

I cut out and put a piece of clear plastic (from a stuff/goods that you bought which come with a clear box) between the noise cancelling mic (gold bit) and the logic board (my piece of plastic was about half a mm) hence pushing the mic forward a bit. And it works!

I first tried jamming a blade between the mic and logic board pushing it forward as much as I can and then tried recording a video and it works.

I ran into this problem and use up 3 ribbon cables because there was no video recording sound before I found this solution.

However, one ribbon cable works without using a piece of plastic but the cable was ripped at the volume button so I had to change it.

Hope this helps.
