Menu button on 4th generation iPod touch doesn't work

My sons, iPod Touch 4th Generation Menu Button (or Home) is Jammed, or won't depress properly. It turns on and off fine, but that's it ....anything to do with the middle button isn't possible.

Sometimes the little gold Z shapped connector can become too flat and not springy. I've repaired them by holding down, with a small tool the Z connector at the board, then gently lifting up at the top. If you just "grab" the Z connector and pull it up, you can rip it off the board and really be in trouble.

I would suggest finding a good repair business.
