How do you exit out of apps without using the task manager?

When I open my apps, there is no x in the corner to close them and I haven't figured out any other way to do so other than to start my task manger and end the task.

Options

For a typical Windows application, which I'm going to assume you are referring to, you can use Alt + F4 to close the application. Another way to do this is to select the icon on the upper left side of the application. This should allow you to select Close.

Yes, that is what i was referring to. The icon in my upper left corner only works if the application I want to close is not the one I am currently using, but thank you.
