Phone went black and wont turn on at all?

Hello,

Today, I was in the middle of using my iphone 3gs and it went black and 'died'.

I waited until I got home and placed it on charge for 2 hours. Nothing.

I researched on line - found a suggestion on here to hold in the power and home button for 10 secs and then release and hold in only the home button for a little longer.

This did nothing.

I have attempted to do this 15 times now. I have also taken out the sim and replaced 2 times.

The phone has no life whatsoever.

Yesterday, my husband did the upgrade for me to io6 or whatever it is called.

The phone did feel very hot despite it not being in a hot place and not having had any action for over 2 hours? (it has been dead and off)

Can you please help me.

Have you tried to charge it on a AC adapter?

my phone is doing the exact same thing, cleaned the dock connector with a toothbrush, got some dirt out, and now it's plugged into a 10w iPad adapter, so there is no excuse for it not to be charging...

Laura, I would open Itunes on your pc, plug your phone into your pc, push and hold both home and power button till you get a message window on Itunes that says it has detected an Iphone in restore mode, at that time you can let go of your phone, then follow the prompts on your PC to restore your phone, if you have held both of the phone buttons till your fingers turn blue then this isn't going to work so let us know on here and we can try something different, by the way if your husband was able to get ios 6 on an I 3 it may be your problem so the restore should work, good luck.

My iphone 3gs has gone blank, wont start... Tried holding both home and power buttons, nothing. The strange thing is when i plug it on the ipad charger, it starts and ask me to connect to itune. Thnpen when i connect it to itune, the apple sign comes on and off, without starting the phone... It goes on like that endlessly, and there is no message on itune to show that an iphone has been detected...

Pleeeease hellllppppppp...
