Can the optical drive from an A1095 be installed into an A1150?

The optical drive in my MacBook Pro A1150 died. I have an old PowerBook G4 A1095. Can I install the optical drive from the PowerBook into my MacBook as a stop-gap measure?

The optical drive from your A1095 PowerBook is too thick to fit into your MacBook Pro, unfortunately. Of the original MacBook/MacBook Pro line, only the 17" MBP's can accommodate the 12.7 mm thick drives.

Sorry!

The PowerBook G4's use PATA Optical Drives, and most likely has a 4X or 8X SuperDrive. The A1150 appears to be a PATA drive as well. It should be compatible, unless the thickness is a problem.
