headphone jack is funky, but works if you press on it.

I have a 2nd gen ipod touch that has a headphone jack which is acting up. If I push on it, either with or without the screen on, it will sound normal. Same with if I pull up on the end of the plug. The screws are not loose and I have tightened them as much as I can, but to no effect. The solder looks fine and I don't see anything obviously wrong with the cable. Is there any way to fix this problem without putting in a new jack?

Heather B, sounds like the inside of the audio jack does not longer make proper contact. I would suggest that you replace it.
