trackpad clicker is noisy and sticky

my clicker is a pain it makes a terrible metal clicking sound whenever it is depressed. Besides the click and stick it seems slow to react as compared to other macbooks i have used with similar clickers. I am wondering if there is a way to quiet the clicking sound and make it softer to the touch. It almost feels like there is a spring under the clicker that is sticking or maybe there is something missing around the spring to dampen the loud clicker sound.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi,

This happened to me on my MBA. It is a pretty easy fix. Mine was noisy and sticking to one side.

You need to access the button from behind. There are little spring-like supports on each side of the click button. One of mine was flattened. I just got in there and bent it back up with a small flat head screw driver and voila. I also took this chance to clean the area as we. It has been fine since.
