when trying to boot my macbook through the power pads, the fan and hard disk start to run however my macbook doesnt boot. also when i let go of the wire shorting the pins both the fan and hardisk stop working.

You have a blown logic board - the jumper pads are not magic - they only work if your problem is in the top case.
