SSD in the old optical bay or original HDD bay?

Should I put my SSD in the old optical bay or the original HDD bay? I'm wondering whether one is better to boot from because I intend to use the SSD as the Boot/application drive.

Options

Experience tells me to put it in the optical bay. I have had far fewer problems doing it this way.
