Will my iPod's touch work if I just replace digitizer No LCD?

Hi I have an iPod touch 4g and the touch wasn't working so I opened it up and the LCD is not fused to digitizer how it should be and the LCD does work just not my digitizer I was wondering if just replacing digitizer will work without the LCD
