Trackpad Click Doesn't Work

I have this macbook pro which was dropped and now when I click the trackpad it does not respond.

After a small research I found out that I might not need to replace the trackpad.

The trackpad has a small screw on it, I think I read somewhere that I might just need to rotate it a little.

Is it true, do you think it'll work?

Are there any tutorials on this website or any other situations similar to mine which has been solved by rotating the screw?

Thanks.

Hi name,

Firstly, you can set the trackpad in System Preferences to click using "Touch to click". That will temporarily solve your problem.

You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the trackpad ribbon cable. Depending on you macbook model, once you opened the bottom cover, try disconnecting the ribbon cable following step 8 of the following guide :

Thanks I will try it, But do you think it has something to do with that screw sitting on the trackpad?

I think I read somewhere that you need to rotate that screw in order to fix this.

I'm not sure if this solution is for trackpads that their click does not function or if you can't actually click because the screw is tighten too hard
