iPad dropped, touch response still works, LCD now has "red" tint?

So the tablet was dropped and now, the screen or LCD, has a "red" tint to it. The touch response still works just fine. I can do everthing on it. I restarted it and it still has that tint to it. I think the connection might have been dislodged on the fall, but I can't be sure unless I crack it open.

I tried looking for the replacement LCD for it here but they don't sell it here.

Can someone point me to a place where I can buy the LCD if it's broken and the cable connection wasn't the problem.

Thanks.

Hey Borris!

This does sound like a Display Data Cable problem. I first of all, would check on the warranty for your iPad. Sending it in for free is always the best option in my opinion.

The fix for it is kind of a pain, due to the extremes Apple put into keeping guys like us out. Once you get everything opened it's as simple as taking out two screws to be able to get to the cable.

Once you check it and re-assemble, and it still doesnt work. You could always buy a new one like you suggested. My favorite sites are newegg and amazon. They always have pretty good deals on stuff. and you are likely to find what you are looking for, without having to resort to any of those more shady sites on the interwebs.

I hope this helped out a little, best of luck with the repair.

I'm being 100% serious. Drop it on its back out of its case from like 2 or 3 feet up ON CARPET. No joke. It worked for me but I dropped it like this 3 times and it completely went away. I know it sounds crazy. Try it for yourself

It worked. That was crazy. Didn't drop mine at first but went through Airport security with it then had the same red hew as describe about. I dropped it once as you recommend and all fixed.

Thank you.

This happened to me, too. I hit it on the back until it came back to normal, but after a while it gave out and there is a permanent red grain to the whole thing--places where it is transparent are the weirdest, usually red or blue. At this point I have to get a new one if I ever plan on watching Netflix on it again.

That totally worked. I dropped from 2-3 feet in the air on to the carpet and I watched the screed fix itself. Thank you!
