This started yesterday, mainly on the left hand side, it seems as if the trackpad clip/spring is catching on the casing from the inside resulting in a loud "cluck" as opposed to "click".
I was looking for teardown of this machine on your site, which it seems is not available anymore.
Please assist where possible.

Sounds like you may have gotten something in the side or under the pad. Take a thin stiff piece of plastic and run it around the pad to see if you can dislodge anything.
