power button reinstall orientation

when reinstalling the metal bit in the phone,( the last illustration in the repair guide shows the irelavent to this question side) which way does the pivoting bar go. up or down ?

We've just updated the Power Button guide to include the correct orientation of the button.

When working on the iPhone 4S the pivoting bar goes down, towards the front screen, if you happen to have the front screen on the iPhone.
