HDMI Port Not Working, Composite Does Though

I have an Arcade 360. After discussing with tech support @ length, I have found that my HDMI port is bad. I have looked around to see if anyone has had this problem before, but I haven't found one yet. I am trying to find out if I can replace the HDMI port myself or will I need to send it in for repair with corporate. I currently am experiencing the RROD also. Would it be possible to fix both these problems @ once since the system will be opened? Also, on a side note, I just got the RLOD on my PS3 and am awaiting the repair kit. Could it be possible to fix the hdmi port when reflowing the motherboard?

crityfer, when you disassemble your Xbox to fix the RROD, check on the capacitors on the logic board. There should be around 26 of them. Check for bulging tops and leaky bottoms. There are only 2 types of capacitors used; 1500uf-16v and 820uf-6.3v. Get the ones with the highest operating temperature specs you can get. Personally I would replace all of those. If you find that it is your HDMI connector with some physical damage, I 'd check places like Mouser.com or Digikey.com for replacement. This of course will only work if there are no other issues and if all of your settings in the setup are correct. Hope this helps, good luck.
