broken iPhone 4s contact clip

After trying to bend my contact clip for to make better contact with the back cover, it snapped in half.

I've rigged it in place where i think it is making solid contact but I am getting no signal, only searching for network.

Any replacements i have seen for sale are not the same shape as the one in my iPhone.

Is there any thing else i can use that will do the trick?

not sure what clip you are talking about, but if you mean the small clip underneath the battery connector, as far as i know its just a ground that has no effect on signal. is your phone running 6.0? maybe its just the ios 6 bug (time/date)

by

yes, ios6

I realize the clip wasn't the problem after all.

what is the bug u speak of?

Chosen Solution

If you go to date/time and the year is 1970. It the ios 6 bug and the phone wont see simcard

Take out sim,

Try setting the date right yourself or connect to wifi and choose automatic

Reinsert sim and there you go... :-)

too late for that thanks,

i tried to reset the phone and restore it through itunes, now it is stuck in itunes/usb screen.

i've tried everything i can find online to restore it, including tinyumbrella, nothing will work

maybe a hardware issue?

think the only thing i can do now is send it to apple...still under warranty

could it be 1 off the solder points on the battery connector has cracked?
