Light is on but no ones home!

Had fan problems, so I took it apart to clean it

In my venture. I broke my socket to the memory board.

Not having a hole lot to use I siliconed it in place.

All put back together , plugged it in turned it on and 10 seconds later it shuts off. So on a new venture. Took it back apart. Not having arctic past I used dielectric past. Checked everything for visible damage. Carefully adjusted prongs on power board. I put it back together and now the red lights on but nothing happens when I hit power. Please help.

So you used dielectric paste which is a lubricant instead of Arctic paste which is a thermal compound? You also used silicone to glue the connector back on, which is an insulator as well? My suggestion would be to disassemble your PS3 and start cleaning it with a high grade isopropyl alcohol, remove all of the silicone and the dielectric grease. Then apply a thermal paste like Arctic silver and solder your connector properly unto the logic board. RE-evaluate after you get those repairs accomplished.
