Battery not charging after replacing alternator on 2002 Jaguar XJ8?
what else should I check?
Is this a good question?

Check the battery itself.
Remove the shoes of the spark plug, turn on your dimmed headlights and measure the voltage of the battery. It should be between 9-12V. If the voltage drops below 9 Volt, consider getting a new battery.
Remember to set your voltage meter to direct, not alternate.
Of course, you shouldn't start your car while doing this.
Hope this is understandable. English is not my native language.

A bit more information would be nice? What engine, what transmission? Why did you change the alternator? How old is the battery? The more information you provide, the easier it might be to give you a precise answer.
