850 mAh battery for an 7G iPod Classic?

Hi, I have a 7th Gen iPod Classic, and I want to change the battery in it. So I wonder if it would be possible to put a thick 850 mAh battery in it, by changing the rear panel of my iPod into a bigger one ? Thanks

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Yes it is possible, BUT that will extend the clearance between the case and the hard drive. This could lead to a loose hard drive and may damage the drive, the cables, or the connector.

I want to put a 240gb HDD in it, so that's not a problem. If I keep the 160gb HDD, can I put some paper or something in it to avoid the clearance ? And will I have to take a Ipod Video or thick 6th Gen Ipod Classic rear panel ?

The iPod video will not fit your front, so you'll have to go with the 6th gen. Try to use some packing foam to fill the space.

Hi. I have an issue : the battery seems not to charge (actually, the battery logo is full in a few seconds while I hadn't yet charge the battery, and it drains in a few seconds too.) So what am I supposed to do ? Thanks
