I fixed an Ipad 2 that fell off a truck going 60 down a highway and then left in the pouring rain for 2 days. Its a case by case kinda deal, and depends on how much patience and free time you have. Snag a digitizer replacement and pop the bugger open and SLOWLY clean with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol.

Its tough to say if you can get it to work again or not, its sort of a case by case deal on where the water got into and where it remains. Take it to a local shop and see if they can have a crack at it, if you do not feel ok doing it yourself.

Best of luck.

@icellfix—That’s certainly encouraging! A few years ago my iPad mini 4 was knocked out of my hands into a swollen creek, and was submerged only a few seconds before I fished it out. When I got it home about a half-hour later, though, it would briefly turn on, then go off again. Eventually it stopped even doing that. Every couple of weeks I’d check it, but finally called the code.

After reading your experience with that iPad 2, I just might take a chance taking the Mini apart (with iFixit guidance), and see what happens. Nothing to lose!
