I would like to know where the CMOS battery is located finmd a replacement and fix it.

Options

CMOS battery is located somewhere on the main board and it's a button cell battery, you can get one at radio shack or a watch repair shop.

usually its a ECR2032 but i don't think every computer has the same CMOS battery.

Paula Murphy, replace the RTC battery on your motherboard. The service manual is available right here. Page 4-12 will show you how to do it. the part number is 501587-001 and there is no shortage of those online. Hope this helps, good luck.
