iPod 4th screen wont stay down?

I've been replacing ipod 4th generation screen and cant get the screen to stay down without applying pressure. then the screen goes white and now i have to order a new. Can someone please help me solve this issue?

  • Check for bent corners. If a corner is bent inwards the screen will not sit flush.
  • Make sure all screws are in place and the correct screws are in the correct holes. Wrong screws can cause the mid plate to raise up and put pressure on the screen
  • Double, no triple check there is no broken glass shards around the edge of the iPod or on the mid plate. Even a tiny one will raise the screen
  • Most importantly check the digitizer cable. The long black cable needs to fold in an S shape. Make sure it does not hang under the LCD. it tucks up right into the top, if it hangs over the metal edge as u push screen down then u need to fold it up, as the screen will not sit like this.
