Why does iPhone 4 battery die after charge drops to 80%.

Already tried resetting to defaults with itunes. Also upgraded to ios6.0.1 and deleted unused apps.

Water damage?

Simplest thing to try is a new battery. They are cheap and childs play to replace. Guides are on here.
