What is the proper oil weight (viscosity) for Sarasota, FL

I have a 1999 Mazda Protege DX with a 1.6L engine and have always used 10W30. My first oil change was on Saturday and noticed the bill listed 5W30. I was under the impression that in higher temperature areas to use the 10W 30. If I drive on the interstate will this hold up?

What you should do is look in your owners manual if you have one for the proper grade oil. If you don't either buy a manual at an auto parts store or read up on what you need to know at your local public library. Good luck.
