Spare metal plate after screen replacement.

I've recently replaced the display assembly in my girlfriends 4S, following the guide for doing so. However on fitting the phone back together I've found this spare component and no amount of searching the guide shows what it is or where it's from. The phone seems to work fine though it fails to see my handset over Bluetooth when trying to share its Internet connection. :/Odd metal plate thing.
