Water damaged (pictures), is it saveable?

The water damaged happened quite some time ago, six months or so. I tried to turn it on with a replacement battery, but it didn't work. So I went on to disassemble the phone and noticed a lot of corrosion. Is it possible to save/clean or is the motherboard most likely fried?

Denis, most certainly a great experiment. But since you have nothing to lose, I suggest you clean your phone using this guide. Make sure that you use a high grade isopropyl alcohol, do not substitute with anything else. Als, stay away from any contact sprays etc. A fine brush, i.e. tooth brush etc. will help you with that. Take your time and no force should be required, you do not want to knock any small components of the board. Do not forget to clean the connectors as well as the cable ends and the dock connector. After you get it cleaned, replace the battery reassemble your phone and see what damage you have. Hope this helps, good luck.
