Why won't CD drive recognize CDs? But the disk spins.

No success with a CD drive cleaner (tiny brushes).

What OS are you using and does the OS see the CD drive? If using OS X.10 check About this Mac and then more detail to start the system profiler. Arrow down and see if it recognizes your drive. Ralph

If the optical drive is recognized by the computer maybe all it needs is a laser lens manuel cleaning using isopropyl alcohol and a Qtip. You'll have to remove the drive from the Ti and open it. Once it's opened dust if off with compressed air and clean the lens. If the cleaning doesn't restore the drive functionality then replace the drive.

Please check this link. This is for the MacBook Pro superdrive but it's the same procedure for your drive.
