Is my hard drive dead?

I dropped my MBP earlier today and it started to make a clicking noise. Stupidly, I restarted it to see if it will stop. That was a huge mistake, because, now it is stuck at the grey loadout screen with the apple and the loading wheel. I tried the holding option method and all it does is take me to internet recovery and then it just stays there. I tried it again and then it took me to the page where I have the option to go to disk utility, install snow lion, etc. I tried to repair it in disk utility, but it says it is unable to do so. Also something about a node? Will I need a new hard drive for it to start working again? thanks!!

Before replacing the hard drive open the computer and see if you have a loose connection. If not you probably do need to replace the drive. Click on the link to identify your MBP and find the instructions for opening up the computer for checking the connection or replacing the drive,
