Wifi, Bluethooth Network Settings, Clock, Battery Icon not loading?

I'm having big problems with my macbook pro.

When I restart my Mac and login, the Mac doesn't load the following and probably many more items:

1. Wifi

2. Bluetooth

3. Battery Icon

4. Clock

5. In preferences I can't go to Network as the ferry wheel just keeps on turning (I have to force the Preferences to quit.

6. Spotlight doesn't work either.

So basically the Mac is handicapped as I can't do anything.

This happens as well when I login as a different user.

Please help I'm desperate.

Thank you in advance!

Sounds like your OS has become corrupted. First do you have a back up of your apps & important data? If not now is the time to make it.

Do you have a bootable external hard drive? If so try re-starting it as your boot disk. If you are unable to do so do you have the system/recovery DVD's that came with your system? If you do restart your system with one of them in your optical player, from either the utilities folder or if you booted from DVD from the menu select Disk Utilities and try repairing your drive. If you find you have some bad blocks you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall everything. Your drive maybe getting close to its end of life, you may think about upgrading it.
