external speaker not working anymore

i just got a jailbroke iphone 3gs and i was listening to music through the external speaker an it just stopped playing, ive tried the qu-tip thing and ive tried restarting it and squeezing the lower right hand side of the screen where the speaker is and it still wont work, i know i ddnt blow the speaker cuz it was just under half way up on volume.... can someone please help me!!
