Can I run 64-bit 10.6.8?

Hello, I have a Mac Mini A1176, and I recently upgraded the processor to a Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz, and put in 2GB of RAM. I was wondering if I could run the 64-bit version of Snow Leopard, or if there was something else I needed to upgrade first.

Thanks!

First your system needs to be able to support it beyond what CPU you have in it. Here's Apple's TN Systems which support 64bit. You may need to upgrade the EFI firmware About EFI firmware updates.

Here's a FAQ TN on 64bit kernel support, and lastly, heres the TN on how to start OS-X in either 32 or 64bit modes
