Options

nothing happens when "on" switch depressed.

No charge lamp lit prior to switch on. No lamps illuminate, no noise, nothing happens when "on" switch depressed. Same occurs with battery removed and ac supply (which is correct) is plugged in. This looks pretty terminal yes? Grateful for any advice, thanks.

How did you check your AC adapter? Use a multimeter and make sure that you are supplying the proper power to your computer. Check your DC power adapter, make sure it is still properly attached. Use a multimeter to check for power in. What have you checked on so far?

Options

Sounds like a dead mainboard again, they are quite cheap to buy though. Infact the whole machine could be replaced for the price of a board. I normally buy one with a broken screen and just replace that and the hard drive, ram etc.
