Water damaged, .5 inch deadzone, that can´t turn off?

Hi,

I have no "physical" damage on the unit. the display has a dead zone about 1/2" wide, on the left side, which crazily worked this past week for ca. 5 days then went back to non sensitivity again - this was after the battery ran totally dead so the unit had been shut down previously.

The power button physically functions, but nothing registers when pushed, so I can´t turn it on and off.

What should I do with this unit?

I could open it up, but is it a matter of connections or something else. - What do you think?

My suspicion is actually that the mother board is okay, as the GPS and other stuff seem to work okay.

I´d be grateful to get some insight on this.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for this usefull website!

Best Regards from Sweden,

Luke

It's probably the digitizer. You can order the part from here and use the guide here to replace it.
