Cracked Glass LCD is undamaged why can't I find the part?

Late 2011 MBP fell off my desk while in the closed position. It's working fine save for the cosmetic nuisance i.e. a spidercrack in the display glass that I've managed to keep together using a ZAGG iPad screen protector.

Only options here on site are for total LCD replacement nothing for the top glass only?

It's not as though the LCD is glued to the glass like the new Iphones and Imacs so just wondering why or where I could find such a part without the unnecessary LCD.

Thanks,

Michael C.

Did you try googling 'MacBook Pro 15" LCD cover glass' I found a few hits. It's a lot of work and you still may end up getting a new display assembly if your not careful here.

Thanks guys just wanted to make sure compatibility wasn't an issue with the amazon solutions but for 30 bucks I guess I can take the risk ;-)

And btw believe me I know how what an excruciatingly painful fix this is going to be this probably more "Black Diamond" stuff but I did tackle a full top case replace job on my older MBP and will be meticulous and very gentle.

Thanks again ;-)
