Changing complete case of mid 2010 MacBook

Hi Guys,

I'm having some crazy idea's but I really love to assemble and disassemble laptops and other stuff so I'm always in for a challenge!

Now, I have a macbook white unibody mid 2010 model. But the case is pretty much worn out, lot off scars and dents and I want to replace it! But I really like the older case of the macbook unibody, the one that is like the present macbook pro (kind of metal?) and it also looks to be 'less damageable'...

Is it possible to swap all my parts from my macbook to the older metal unibody case? Would be really cool!

Thanks guys!

Bo

Sorry to say Apple rarely makes things that easy. Each series of systems tend of have major differences in the layout of the internal parts so you can't just move them over.

You do have some options here in refinishing your system:

- Apply self-adhesive skin wrap

- Snap on hard plastic skins

- Take your covers off, sand them down and dye them with RIT Heres a Sample

- If you want the metal look you could go full tilt and take your covers to a plating shop Computer Choppers as an example. You can get Black or other anodized finish or Copper or Chrome metal as well. Polycarbonate covers require more work but can be plated as well.
