How can I tell if dust is inside the LCD or inside the glass screen?

1) By the way, how can i tell if the dust is inside the LCD or inside the glass screen?

2) If it is in the LCD can that cleaning be done in any way? Since this post did anybody found out a good guide with picture on how to clean the LCD?

Even if i do have my iMac in full warranty i don't live in a country with Apple service near by...i have to shipped and wait a considerable long time to be fixed...if they ever do.

Thanks for the good answer ACP. I guess nevertheless without opening the glass is not possible to "see" if the dust is inside or outside the LCD, right? I would like to be sure on that. If the iMac is under warranty and i decided to open it i will loose it.

If there is dust between the glass and the lcd it can be cleaned. You would need to use suction cups to remove the glass and then you would be able to clean it. The glass is thin and fragile and can shatter/crack if you are not careful. If the dust is actually inside the lcd then it would need an lcd replacement. Since you are under warranty, even though it would take some time, at least it would be free. Hope this helps!
